Nishimoto Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Chairman and CEO: Yoshiro Susaki; hereinafter "Wismettac Group"), which has built a "food" network internationally and is operating a wholesale business centered on Asian food products and ingredients, has joined The Consumer Goods Forum (hereinafter "CGF"), an organization in which leading companies in the consumer goods industry collaborate on social issues.

CGF is the only organization that brings consumer goods retailers and manufacturers together globally, having approximately 400 companies (from more than 70 countries), mainly consumer goods and distribution companies and service providers, as members. The organization addresses social and environmental challenges through Coalitions of Action under four pillars (Sustainability, Food Safety, Health & Wellness, and E2E Value Chain).

In recent years, the food industry, both domestically and internationally, has been required not only to achieve the global standard of "food safety" but also to contribute to sustainability, such as food and plastic waste issues.

The Wismettac Group is a global supplier and distributor of food products and container packaging materials, and we believe that we are responsible for contributing to social and environmental issues.

Through CGF activities, we will continue to contribute to solving issues facing Japan and the world from a trading company's perspective by identifying global trends, particularly in the areas of sustainability and food safety, and strengthening networking with global retailers, manufacturers, and regulatory authorities.

■ About The Consumer Goods Forum

CGF was established in 2009 through the merger of three organizations: CIES -The Food Business Forum (International Chain Stores Association), Global Commerce Initiative (GCI: standards promotion organization), and Global CEO Forum.

It is an international trade association for consumer goods that brings together retailers and manufacturers of consumer goods from around the world, with total sales of 4.6 trillion euros and approximately 10 million employees. From Japan, 64 companies, mainly retailers, food manufacturers, and consumer goods manufacturers, have become members.

CGF has three local groups in Japan: Sustainability, CHL (Collaboration for Healthier Lives), and GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). The members work together within those groups to solve sustainability, health & wellness, and food safety challenges.
